Gigi Delneri, as usual, intervened in the press conference to analize the next game against Roma, trained by Luciano Spalletti. Here are is words.
Something changes without Widmer?
"Nothing. There is Faraoni. An attacking fullback for an attacking fullback. After what Davide did in Genua, I had no doubts about it. It seems a logical solution for me".
We know Roma qualities. How do you mark Nainggolan?
"He will be followed by whom is on his trajectory when he'll get close to the box. We blocked well the attacking midfielders of Sampdoria in Genua; we blocked very well Banega last Sunday and we'll try to do it again tomorrow. We have our structure and we should not adapt to the opponents, but only to exalt our characteristics. We must be strong in our certainties, apart from the result".
The mistakes made by the referees left any hangover?
"We should start by not making mistakes ourselves. The referee can do good or bad, but I think that the arbitral category should be always respected and left alone".
How do you protract the nice first half seen on Sunday to the whole 90 minutes?
"Teams like ours against top teams must always keep an high intensity, because otherwise you won't control the match. We always try to give it all in the field. We should try to spend better the energies, avoiding wastes and and paying the right attention, better than we did against Inter. Roma won 4 games away from home; paradoxically now is more covered than before, more energic, but like any other team they have their defects and it would be a waste not to try to play the game, that will be complicated against a team rigged for big goals, even with the absences they're paying. Is enough to see the quality of the subs, like El Shaarawy, Paredes, Manolas. Who surprised me the most of Roma? Dzeko, for the ways he was treated before. He has an incredible structure. Spalletti proposed him some kind of things and he's using them for an important growth. His characteristics are very useful for Roma. He's a complete player, whi I think is vital for the redandyellows. We stood up well against Icardi, as welle as Pavoletti, Quagliarella and Muriel. We always proved we can stop this kind of strikers, but we always have to pay attention in our work, and also in the help of other players".
What do you think of Lasagna?
"We have five more months to judge his impact in the team. He's a boy who has great deepness; he made a lot of experience, working hard to emerge and this never hurts. He has some characterstics that fit well also with another future teammate. We're happy with his arrival. I like him personally and I think Udinese made an important signing.
Has this game a special value for you?
"I've been in a lot of teams because of my age, even if I'm young in the spirit and enthusiasm, so there should be many special games for me. Roma was an important milestone that, even if it didn't go well, left me with many important things".
Who will play, Kums or Hallfredsson?
"Kums played a great match against Inter, but they could both play. We want though insist on the things that are cementing our certainties. Fight agains top teams and getting angry at the end for losing isn't something we're intrested in".
Are you happy with the good moment of the many young blackandwhites?
"I think this always has been the philosophy of Udinese. Youngs are always a good thing. In my times a player always debutted after his 20s. Now if we watch foreign football, there was a great evolution on this aspect, and we try to do that also in Italy. Because the youth combined with some element with experience, that guides them, is the winning mix for an important progress".
A judgment on Spalletti.
"Luciano arrived in the Serie A a little before me, but I've known him for a long time. We grew side by side. I value him a lot. We have the same training, maybe mine has been a little longer. I'm happy for me, for him and for all those trainers that through training reached the top of football. He is a great trainer, who always achived important results, last the rebirth of Edin Dzeko. What would I steal from him? Maybe some years [laughs]. Everybody has his characteristics and a great passion, that pushes you to put great effort in your work.
Do you think that indoor trainings might affect Udinese tomorrow?
"We trained well. And training means also look each other in the eyes and talk. Indoor trainings won't affect us, also because yesterday we performed a good outdoor session thanks to the good resistance of court 4 of the Bruseschi, but the cold in this moment is everywhere. The only warm place is at home before the fireplace".
