After the two defeats against Inter and Roma, Udinese knows it’s necessary to score again, especially to have self-confidence again. Delneri’s lineup is always the same apart from Hallfredsson that stands for Kums. Martusciello renounces Saponara.
At minute 3 De Paul is kept by Krunic: this causes the first free kick of the match. Udinese doesn’t seize a corner kick. At minute 10 there is a corner kick for Empoli, too but Bellusci doesn’t take advantage of this chance. At minute 14 Zapata has a good chance to score, but Skorupski deflects the ball for a corner. At minute 20 Jankto crosses for Thereau but Costa forestalls his move. At minute 21 Krunic shoots for Mchedlidze that doesn’t score. Udinese makes things very hard for Empoli. At minute 26 Fofana doesn’t score and the ball is deflected for a corner. There is Jankto’s slide tackle against Krunic and Russo gives him a yellow card. Mchedlidze goes on in the penalty area but there’s Samir tackle. At minute 33 Russo gives Hallfredsson a yellow card because of a fault against Krunic. At minute 34 Skorupski deflects a very good shot of Jankto. The match is well-balanced. At minute 41 there is a yellow card for Bellusci because of a fault against Zapata.
The first half ends with a corner of Empoli: Pasqual fails his shot, chaises De Paul and brings him down: Russo gives him a yellow card, he is the fourth booked.
The second half starts with the same lineups: at minute 48 Costa is booked because of a tackle against De Paul. De Paul’s free kick isn’t seized by Danilo and Felipe. At minute 55 there is Delneri’s first change: Perica stands for Zapata. Few minutes later Vaseli stands for Laurini. The match doesn’t take off, the ball is always in the midfield. At minute 63 Kums stands for Hallfredsson that risked another yellow card. This is a match full of yellow cards: at minute 64 Samir gets booked because of a fault in the midfield. Even if they put great care into the match, both the teams don’t score. At minute 72 Tello stands for Pucciarelli. At minute 75 Felipe intercepts and deflects Maccarone’s shot. Unfortunately at minute 82 there is a great chance for Empoli: Mchedlidze scores with a heade. The match is not well-balanced anymore. This is the third consecutive defeat for Udinese that is now waiting for Milan.
