“I feel Udinese’s fans are really supporting me through this difficult moment”

Mauricio Isla speaks about the terrible earthquake that has hit Chile: “It is not easy to be away from home in such moments. I would really like to help the people in my country”

Chilean midfielder cannot help thinking about Saturday’s night deadly earthquake: “The media have shown tragic images. My family is safe, but people living in Southern Chile are going through an extremely difficult situation since the epicentre of the earthquake was there. It is not easy to be away from home in such moments. I would really like to help the people in my country. I feel Udinese’s fans are really supporting me through this difficult moment”.

Udinese is getting ready for the away match in Bergamo: “It is going to be a challenging match for both teams, though. I hope we will play as well as we did against Inter, it doesn’t matter we lost, we played good football. We need to win once, to completely recover from this impasse. I feel this moment is close. I also hope I can play to give my contribution to the squad”.

The three team tournament among Chile, Costa Rica and North Korea has been called off because of the earthquake: “Chile managed to qualify for the World Cup, and our idea is to do our best in South Africa. We also know Chile is a young, up-and-coming team, but we will give it a try!”.
