Keinan Davis has spoken to Udinese TV about how he's settling in to life at Udinese after completing a deadline-day move.

“It all happened very quickly because it was the end of the transfer window. I had a rushed medical but we managed to get it done in time. I'm very happy to have joined this club.”

As a youngster, he plied his trade for non-league sides until impressing during a trial with Aston Villa.

“I joined Villa at 17, which is quite late for English football. I was shocked when I first arrived there as I'd never been in such a high-level academy. All the kids were top quality. After a few years I managed to get into the first team so it went well.”

The Englishman made his Premier League debut for the Villains against Bournemouth. “We lost so I wasn't happy but on an individual level I was pleased.

“English football is tough and physical. Everyone is fast and strong and has the mental strength to stay focused on the game. There are ten top clubs and that's why it's so difficult.”

After that he spent two seasons out on loan, at Nottingham Forest and then Watford.

“I think I did the right thing, honestly. My time at Forest was one of the best spells of my life and I scored my best goal there – against Reading.

“Watford was an important experience too, with some good and some less good moments. It was a nice adventure in any case.”

During his time with the Hornets he scored a goal with a scorpion kick: “But that was just an ok goal!”

Now he's ready for the challenge for Serie A.

“It's one of the best leagues in the world, very tactical and tough defensively. Taking on the defenders here is a good way for me to test my ability.”

The 25-year-old also revealed the opponent he's most looking forward to playing against.

“Probably Romelu Lukaku. I've never played against him before. I think we're different, though. The only thing we have in common is our height!”

Davis spoke about his initial impression of the team and when he could make his debut, given that he recently picked up an injury in training.

“There's a good group of hard-working lads here and the coach is very direct. He doesn't waste any time. He's the sort of coach you always want as a player: honest with a strong work ethic.”

“We'll have to see with the medical and coaching staff how training goes. The good thing is I already know some of the guys here from Watford: Hassane Kamara, Christian Kabasele, Joao Ferreira and Maduka Okoye,”

“It's been a difficult start to the season but one win can quickly change the picture. We've had the chances to score and win our last matches. Hopefully we'll do that in our next game.

“I want to score lots of goals to help the team climb the table as quickly as possible. I'm not going to reveal my personal target though – that's a secret I'm keeping for myself.”

Finally, he shared his first impression of the city ended with a message for the fans:

“I like Udine – especially the weather. It's not like in England, where it rains all the time! I've eaten out a few times and the food is really good.

“My message for the fans is stay with us and keep getting behind and we'll turn the results around!”
