Udine, 03 November 2023 – Udinese Calcio and the Italy Creators Team are delighted to announce the 2023 International Creators Games. The first event aimed at Gen Z will be held at Bluenergy Stadium, involving national teams of Spanish, Italian, and German influencers.

This new initiative allows Udinese to attract and communicate with a younger target audience through influencers, who are one of today’s most important communication tools for engaging with the Gen Z demographic.

The tournament will be held at Bluenergy Stadium on 25 November 2023 and will see teams of content creators from Italy, Spain and Germany represent their countries and battle it out on Udinese’s home turf. One team will be crowned the winners of the first International Creators Games.

“Innovation is in our DNA,” explained Udinese Calcio managing director Franco Collavino. “We look after every aspect of the fan experience by working on projects that widen our fanbase and get more and more young people on board. Events like the International Creators Games help us to do this while promoting Bluenergy Stadium, which is once again proving to be a model modern stadium, open 365 days a year and increasingly relevant in young people’s everyday lives.”

“Bringing the biggest social media presences from Spain and Germany here to Italy in such a prestigious stadium is a great source of pride for us,” said Paolo Giovannini, President of the Italy Creators Team. “These influencers have over 400 million combined followers and this event is the first of its kind in Italy but also in most of Europe. Content creators are the key to connecting social media users with sports clubs, players, and stadiums. Udinese is the first Italian club to have done this. I’d like to thank my colleagues in Spain and Germany for putting together two high-quality teams. The Spanish side includes players from the prestigious Kings League, Gerard Pique’s revolutionary football league. We’re the first, alongside Udinese, to bring them all together on the pitch here in Italy.”

“Perazza s.r.l were very keen to organise this first edition of the International Creators Games with the Italy Creators Team and Udinese,” added Riccardo Perazza, Vice President of the Italy Creators Team and head of Perazza s.r.l. “The tournament is the culmination of a journey that started in November 2022 when the team was conceived. There’s always been a strong desire for an international influencer tournament, and I thank Udinese for allowing us to hold it in their stadium. We’re definitely hoping to hold another edition of this tournament in 2024 in Italy and maybe also abroad. We’re always open to new possibilities. Influencers are getting more and more involved in sport. There’s a transition from online to offline as fans want to see their social media idols on the pitch. This event was created to respond to that need. It’s the first of its kind in Italy and Europe, with three national teams going head-to-head on the pitch.”

JoanMarc Beromeu Solsona, President of the Spain Creators Team, also shared his thoughts on the tournament: “It’s a pleasure for us to play at Udinese’s stadium on 25 November. We’ve got a team of well-known content creators and football experts, with more than 100 million total followers across all social media sites. Our squad features pioneering influencers such as our captain Doctore Pollo, our coach Robert PG and some of the most famous influencers in the world like Spursito, Papi Gavi and Cacho01. We’ll do our best and prepare the best we can for the tournament, which will help us with our preparations for future matches.”

Alberto Ruiz, President of the Germany Creators Team, said: “It’s a huge honour and we’re ready to face up to this challenge in the iconic Bluenergy Stadium against two amazing teams. We’re happy to be able to show what we can do and we’re hoping to make it exciting to watch. Our mission is to show the beauty of our football and demonstrate our passion. We can’t wait to get going.”
