Gabriele Cioffi admitted the nature of Wednesday's defeat to Salernitana was tough to take after Simone Verdi's stoppage-time goal ended Udinese's three-match winning run.
“It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth,” the coach rued. “We lost our heads at the end. Otherwise we got our mentality and focus right. We could have done better but now must move on.
“We have work to do. Defeats help you to win because you learn what you can do better. Today was a harsh lesson.
“The game went the way we expected it to. We could have been more precise in the final third and more careful in certain situations. We'll look closely at those 15 seconds at the end when there were two or three things we could have done better.
“After winning three head-to-heads, one slip-up is understandable but we don't want to accept it.”
