Gerard Deulofeu got on the scoresheet in Saturday’s trip to the Stadio Maradona, but it wasn’t enough to seal victory for his team. Despite going ahead in the first half, Udinese couldn’t hold their nerve to bring home the points. The striker spoke to Udinese TV and expressed his dissatisfaction with the result.

“I’m very disappointed because I don’t like to lose; no one does. I think our performance was good. We controlled the game in the first half, but less so in the second. After half-time, there were some parts of our game that weren’t so good.

“I know it’s hard to come and win at a place like this, but we were on edge a bit and shouldn’t have been. We put on a good display but were looked nervy in the first 20 minutes of the second half. I’ve said it many times: to win in Serie A, you have to play well.

“I’m very happy with my own performance. I feel good. I’m helping the team at both ends of the pitch, whether in defence or attack. We want to be a solid unit. We want to be strong to win our games. The team needs me and I want to help them, as I am doing. We all want to reach our goals as soon as possible.”
