Udinese Calcio are happy with the outcome of ruling number 68 by Gerardo Mastandrea, Serie A sports judge, taken on 18 February and which became definitive today. It concerned the match between Fiorentina and Udinese match which was originally scheduled for 6 January but didn't actually go ahead. This was due to restrictions imposed by the Friuli Central University Health Authority which prevented Udinese from taking part in contact sports and the squad having to go into quarantine due to there being many positive Covid cases.

The aforementioned provision, however, has seen its effectiveness recognized by virtue of the recent ruling by the TAR Friuli Venezia Giulia. The decision taken by the sports judge that the match will go ahead on a to-be-confirmed date is therefore an admission of Udinese's principled and transparent behaviour.

The squad were objectively unable to travel to Florence which has been recognised in the decision made by Mastandrea which states that "no particular charge, even in terms of lack of perfect diligence or, on the contrary, joint participation, can be attributed to Udinese, against such a type of ASL provision which is currently valid and effective and, last but not least, by the conduct shown by the club in this case."

Udinese Calcio’s integrity is reaffirmed through this decision, showing that the club is constantly attentive to compliance with rules, protocols and regulations to ensure that, through integrity, fairness and transparency, the regularity of matches and sporting results are safeguarded.
