Udinese fell to a 1-2 defeat against Qatar on Sunday, leaving midfielder Sandi Lovric feeling disappointed. “If I’d scored that goal at the start of the second half, we’d have had time to score another. It’s a shame and I’m annoyed that I got it wrong.”

The Slovenian is determined to do better next time. “I feel good. I want to get better every day and there’s plenty of room for improvement. When I’m on the pitch, I give everything and want to help the team in any way I can.”

The training camp in Austria has certainly not been easy. “Our legs are getting a little tired but that’s no excuse. We have to do better and continue to work hard. It’s important to be together during these weeks, to help the newcomers integrate into the team.”

Looking ahead to an exciting clash against Chelsea at Dacia Arena on 29 July, he anticipates a great atmosphere but was determined to keep the focus on their next match against Cypriot side Pafos. “We’re hoping for a full stadium, but first we have to do a good job tomorrow. We’ll finish the training camp and then we’ll think about Chelsea.”
