A goal by Ignacio Pussetto just a couple of minutes after coming on all but extinguished any Empoli hopes of staging a comeback in Udinese’s 4-1 victory at Dacia Arena.
“I came on wanting to do well, help the team and give my all. I was able to help my team-mates today at a difficult point in the game,” explained the forward.
It wasn’t just his powerful left-footed strike that stood out in the game, as Pussetto acknowledged: “I think the whole team did well. I went on hoping to score a goal. I just hoped the ball would come my way and luckily, I found the back of the net.”
“We have to stay calm and focus on Salernitana, as that’ll be a tough game. They won today and they’re on the up. We hope we can keep doing well at home and continue down this path.
“I always work hard to be able to stay games and help my team-mates.”
