Silvestri: “The point is what matters”

The goalkeeper reacts to stalemate away to Genoa

Marco Silvestri was in no doubt about the importance of the point away to Genoa.

“What matters is that we take a point back home. The way we did it doesn’t matter.”

The goalkeeper made a string of fine saves and when asked about the best one, he said, “The second one on the bound. It was a very tough game. They put in a real shift. We’re pleased with the result.

With regard to the difficult situation at present, the goalkeeper added, “We were among the most affected by Covid. It was tough to be out for ten days and we hadn’t been training just before that as well. In the end, it was more than two weeks without training.

Silvestri concluded by discussing how the international break will be important for “getting back to our best form and helping the new players settle in”.
