The boss speaks to the media after the Torino game

Luca Gotti spoke of his disappointment after seeing his Udinese side frustrated by Torino, who left Friuli with the points thanks to Andrea Belotti's second-half penalty.

“This defeat is especially painful and disappointing,” the coach told Udinese TV.

“It feels very different to our previous defeats and I think we prepared well for this game. We were in control for long spells of the match until the penalty. We kept playing the way we wanted to play after they scored too but crucially we weren't able to score. There were times when we didn't use the ball well at both ends of the pitch and we paid for our mistakes.

“We all knew how important this game was for our season and we didn't take it lightly – that's why it hurts so much. Now we must roll up our sleeves and get ourselves back on track as quickly as possible.

“[Roberto] Pereyra is very useful both in midfield and in attack and it's a big advantage for me to be able to field him wherever I think he can best help the team.

“Ironically we created less at the end of the match when we had five attackers on the pitch than we did in the first hour. We weren't good enough to get the goal we needed.”
