Gianpaolo Pozzo gave an interview to Udinese TV after arriving at the team's pre-season training base in Sankt Veit an der Glan, Austria on Saturday.

Read on to find out what the club owner had to say.

It’s always nice when you join the team at pre-season training. What’s the atmosphere like within the camp?

"I’m really pleased because I can see that this group is very compact and close-knit. I’m happy with the team we have and the atmosphere they’re working in here."

What sort of Udinese team do you see taking shape here? You've signed some excellent players like Marco Silvestri, one of the league’s best keepers. Do you have a message for the fans?

"We’re working hard but still missing a few players. We want to make the right signings and bring in good players with big potential so that we can face the season head on. We’re working on the missing pieces but everything we’ve done so far has been done well. We’re pleased and I think the fans can be confident."

Speaking of the fans, it’s now official that stadiums will be able to reopen at 50% capacity. How do you feel about the news that Dacia Arena will be partially full again two years on?

"First of all, I think it was right to be as cautious as we were because it’s been a terrible pandemic and you must never underestimate things. We’ll do everything possible to ensure that the fans can come to the stadium safely. We've really missed the fans because football without fans is nothing. It’s been a difficult period that we’ve had to live with it. Hopefully it will finish soon. Let's start with 50% capacity and see how things develop. With the necessary caution, which I urge everyone to take, we'll find a way to increase the capacity and get the league running as normal again."
