Nacho Pussetto spoke of his delight at being able to play football again after starting – and scoring – in Udinese's friendly match against Sturm Graz in Sankt Veit.

The Argentine forward is enjoying his first taste of action since being been sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury at the turn of the year.

“It was nice to score but mainly it was just nice to get back out there and play again,” he explained to Udinese TV. “These 45 minutes I played today are a good platform for me to build on. The result is not important; it's about getting minutes in legs.”

Nacho also revealed that he forwent his holiday time to ensure he could hit the ground running in pre-season.

“I spoke to the boss and he was surprised at how much work I've been doing. I did a lot while I was in Argentina – it wasn't exactly a holiday for me! I knew that when I came back to Udine I'd really want to train with the rest of the squad and I'm happy with the way things are going.”

Finally, he shared his views on playing in different forward roles.

“When I play alongside [Stefano] Okaka, I operate as a second striker but I'm quite comfortable playing as the front man too. I still have a lot to learn in this position but my team-mates are helping me a lot.”
