Ahead of Friday's match against Venezia, Marco Silvestri discussed how Udinese have been building up for their second Serie A fixture of the campaign after securing a comeback draw against Juventus on the opening weekend.
“The Juventus game gave us a massive boost because we did something that's close to impossible,” the goalkeeper told DAZN shortly before kick-off. “If you look back over the years, very few teams have been able to get a result after trailing 2-0 to Juve. We know what an achievement it was and we've been really fired up in training the last week. Morale is excellent coming into this game.
“I'm delighted with my decision to join Udinese. I'm very happy here. Everything is in place for us to have a great season. I don't want to say that I'll do better or worse personally than last season – I'm just focused on helping Udinese do well.
“Venezia are a well-drilled side who play very good football. They have fast players so we have to be careful when they break or they'll hurt us.”
