Udinese beat Cjarlins Muzane 4-0 in the first of this weekend's two friendlies, played at the Centro Sportivo Dino Bruseschi.

Luca Gotti went with a previously untried three-man backline of Marvin Zeegelaar, Sebastiano De Maio and Marco Ballarini and threw new signing Lazar Samardzic straight into the side on the right of central midfield.

The German starlet wasted no time in introducing himself: with just three minutes on the clock, he crossed for Petar Micin to score the opener following some neat work on the right wing.

Tolgay Arslan notched the second on the quarter-hour mark when he went on a solo run, broke through the visitors' backline and applied a tidy finish.

The Turkish midfielder then started the move for the third as he pickd out Samardzic on the edge of the box; the 19-year-old teed up Fernando Forestieri, whose shot was blocked – but Stefano Okaka pounced on the rebound to make it 3-0.

After the break Micin wrapped up the scoring courtesy of another assist from Samardzic.

The lads will be back in action on Saturday against Serie A newcomers Empoli. The match is to be played in Abano Terme at 18:00 CEST, with live exclusive coverage on Udinese TV.
