In the build-up to Udinese v Juventus, club vice president Stefano Campoccia spoke to Udinese TV about the reopening of stadiums: “We’re starting with a bang and big smiles on our faces. Today should be seen as a celebration for football in Italy. We haven't yet managed to get to capacity but, in the meantime, we can enjoy this day of celebration, which puts the team to the test immediately against a Juve side that wants to make a good impression after a difficult year. We hope it will be a nice day of sport and enjoyable for everyone. I have to say that Udinese has always given a good account of itself, even in such a complicated situation – let’s remember that we were the first to experiment with tools for facilitating social distancing that could have even brought this day forward. Now we hope to capitalise on the next international break to get an even higher level of attendance, as we’ve seen in other European leagues, because we can do it. If everyone present is vaccinated, it’s something we can manage.”
