Saturday's meeting at Bluenergy Stadium will be the 105th time Udinese have played Roma in Serie A. The Giallorossi are one of five teams – together with Inter, Juventus, Milan and Fiorentina – that Udinese have faced at least 100 times in the top flight, resulting in 24 wins, 24 draws and 56 defeats. Match-ups in Udine have yielded 17 wins, 12 draws and 23 defeats.

The last time these two sides met at Bluenergy Stadium, in January, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp settled it with stunning strike.

That match was Udinese's second win in four home games against Roma (the other a 4-0 in September 2022, with Sandi Lovric on the score sheet) – as many as on the 12 previous occasions.

Kosta Runjaic's side have not won since beating Monza on 29 August and are goalless in their last three matches.

Roma meanwhile boast the league's second-best attack with 23 goals (their fourth-ever best tally after nine league games) and the second-best defence (eight conceded). Gian Piero Gasperini's men have not lost a domestic fixture since 5 April.

Against Parma Hassane Kamara made his 100th Serie A appearance for Udinese, while Maduka Okoye recorded his 20th clean sheet in Serie A as well as his fourth career penalty save. One of those spot-kicks was against Roma striker Donyell Malen, in PSV v Sparta Rotterdam in 2020.

Nicolo Zaniolo will be facing his former club, having played for Roma between 2018 and 2023, scoring 24 goals in 128 appearances.

Nahuel Molina turned out 68 times for Udinese between 2020 and 2022, netting ten goals.
