Today, 26 May, Bluenergy Stadium served as a focal point for sports performance at an international level by hosting the first edition of the Football Performance Summit. The top-level event was organised by Udinese Calcio for individuals and organisations involved in all-round athletic training and sports performance, with a particular focus on football, and was attended by over 200 participants, a quarter of which who came from overseas. The attendees had the opportunity to discuss the most cutting-edge technologies and working methods in the field of athletic training and high-level performance in modern football.
The Football Performance Summit is the brainchild of Jordi Garcia, Udinese Calcio’s Head of Performance Department. It once again underscores the club’s interest and commitment in a field in which it has always invested in the most innovative technologies and the best professionals. The event also highlights the role of Bluenergy Stadium as a venue for major international events, including ones which aren’t necessarily exclusively related to football. Udinese and their stadium have proven yet again to be the driving force behind bringing people and activity to the city of Udine and the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, in this instance the guests and participants in the event.
“Udinese's know-how and innovative DNA are world-renowned,” stated Udinese Calcio’s General Manager Franco Collavino. “Our club has always paid special attention to high-level performance and this great international event is a testimony of this. Once again, Udine and Friuli Venezia Giulia are hosting a world-class event that benefits the whole local area. I’d like to give a special thanks to Jordi Garcia who, thanks to his work and vision, made the first edition of the Performance Summit possible, helped with the support of the club as a whole.”
The event was preceded on Monday evening by a welcome drink reserved for partners, speakers and participants at the Casa della Contadinanza of the Castle of Udine, where Udinese Calcio general manager Franco Collavino, Jordi Garcia and the regional councillor for culture and sport Mario Anzil gave opening speeches.
Today’s course of events was presented by Sky Sport journalist Marina Presello.
