Following the emergence of numerous COVID-19 cases in the team group, the local health authority (Azienda Sanitaria Universitaria Friuli Centrale), besides instructing positive subjects to self-isolate, has ordered the team group to quarantine or self-monitor in accordance with their vaccine status, from 5 to 9 January 2022.

In addition, all subjects have been banned from playing any contact sport, from 5 to 9 January 2022.

These measures were implemented in light of two more players testing positive after further PCR tests were taken this morning, in addition to the seven players and two members of staff who are already in isolation having tested positive previously.

As a result, Udinese Calcio submitted a formal request to Lega Serie A to postpone the matches scheduled for Thursday 6 January (against Fiorentina) and Sunday 9 January (against Atalanta).
