Dacia Arena pitch named the best by the Lega Serie A

The Dacia Arena playing surface has been named the best in Serie A in 2021/22 in an official statement by the Lega Serie A on Wednesday.

 

The club began working particularly hard in this area last summer and has shown how heavily it is willing to invest to make the stadium perfect as a model for a modern venue,  which is active 365 days per year and increasingly green on the path towards eco-sustainability. As well as concrete actions to protect the environment by the club in tandem with its partners, focus on green matters relates to ensuring that footballing spectacles are complemented by a perfect playing surface.

 

“As is the case in our job,” stated General Manager Franco Collavino, “the hunt for details and striving for excellence are constants across all of our activities. Over the years, we’ve gone to great lengths, in terms of resources and competence, to ensure the Dacia Arena pitch can showcase the most technical aspects of matches, in keeping with our home stadium’s beauty, making it the ideal location to enjoy the spectacle that is Serie A.

 

“I’d like to thank all the ground staff who, with the club’s support, have been doing an exceptional job since summer 2021, looking after even the smallest of details in order to be recognised as having the best pitch in Serie A.

 

“It should be remembered that votes were cast from game to game by captains from every team, referees, the Lega Serie A’s agronomist and TV directors. This accolade embodies the widespread appreciation of the work put in. I’d also like to highlight the way the playing surface at Dacia Arena as well as the pitches at the Bruseschi have been maintained, allowing the club to reach a standard of excellence that is thanks in part to the connection with Watford, which is fundamental both on and off the pitch in terms of sharing know-how and competences in various fields, as shown here.”

“Dacia Arena in Udine has been named the Most Valuable Field of the 2021/22 season. During the campaign that has just come to an end, Serie A pitches were assessed at the end of each game week for the first time, with emphasis on technical performance and aesthetics in a bid to decide upon the Most Valuable Field of the season.

 

The aim is to provide clubs with more of an incentive to improve the aesthetic quality and performance of the pitches at their venues and to have a high-quality product for TV, while rewarding the clubs whose structural investments have proved the most fruitful.

 

The final standings, as determined by the votes from captains of visiting teams, referees, TV directors for the event and the LNPA’s agronomists, in line with what was set out in statement number 5 of 9 August 2021, show the three best pitches in Serie A TIM 2021/22 are:
