Technical Director Gokhan Inler has recently taken part in the Portugal Football Summit, an international event on innovating and developing the football industry, which brought together hundreds of athletes, directors, clubs, federations and companies from all over the world at the headquarters of the Portuguese Football Federation.
Inler was part of the “Insights from Football’s Sporting Directors” panel together with Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations Tiago Pinto. The two directors discussed the role of sporting directors in helping a club be successful, as they examined strategies related to scouting, a team’s long-term planning, performance management and the creation of a winning culture both on and off the pitch.
“It’s been an honour to represent Udinese at such a prestigious event that was attended by great professionals,” Gokhan Inler stated during the summit. He then added: “I want to thank the Portuguese Football Federation for inviting me here. I’ve had the chance to share my experience as a former footballer and director on one of the most important stages in Europe and exchange ideas with other great directors such as Tiago Pinto.
"At the same time, I also presented the Udinese model, which is a true example of excellence at a global level. Our scouting model, coupled with our great achievements off the pitch in terms of sustainability and the work on our wonderful Bluenergy Stadium elevate our standing globally and make us a modern, innovative club.”
