Oliver Grice-Hewitt enjoys success at the Ground Management Awards

Udinese’s ground manager picks up a prestigious award

Udinese is associated with excellence and taking care of even the smallest of details, with the splendour of Dacia Arena and its impressive playing surface a concrete example of this.

The fact is that our stadium had the best pitch in Serie A last season, as determined by the Lega Serie A’s vote involving players and club workers.

Now another prestigious award has come the way of our ground manager, Oliver Grice-Hewitt, who, along with his staff, created a perfect playing surface thanks in part to the powerful synergy and exchange with our colleagues at Watford.

Oliver picked up the prestigious GMA award, an annual prize from the Ground Management Association, a British organisation that leads the way globally in the ground management sector and that is also recognised by the National Governing Bodies of Sport.

Every year, the GMA award pays tribute to the best ground management professionals for looking after pitches, using technology and adopting sustainable measures in their work, which, in turn, contribute to improved working methods at professional football clubs and in the local community.

Over 500 workers, experts and sporting directors took part in the event.

In total, there were 18 prize categories.

Our very own Oliver Grice-Hewitt claimed the International Impact award, having made a name himself outside of England thanks to the wonderful results that he has achieved with the Dacia Arena pitch as well as the playing surfaces at the Bruseschi.

This major accolade for Udinese and Oliver on the international stage is further confirmation of the club’s wonderful reputation and its professional commitment to attaining excellence.
