Udinese are set to face Cagliari on Saturday 19 September, but it will be more than just a football match. It will be the centrepiece of “Play for Sustainability / Tutti in campo per il pianeta”. The event, organised by Udinese Calcio together with local institutions, club partners and organisations from the area, will integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into the staging of the match in a structured way, following the guidelines set out by UEFA in its Football Event Sustainability Manual, which outlines how sustainability can be incorporated into every stage of a sporting event’s life cycle.

The full programme of initiatives will be presented on Friday 11 September at 12:30 in the Bluenergy Stadium press room, during a media conference attended by deputy minister for the environment Vannia Gava, mayor of Udine Alberto Felice De Toni, Serie A president Ezio Simonelli and Udinese Calcio vice-president Stefano Campoccia. The press conference will be broadcast live on the club’s official YouTube channel.
