Udinese Calcio and the University of Udine join forces to promote sustainability.
Udinese Calcio’s Managing Director Franco Collavino and Rector of the University of Udine, Roberto Pinton, signed a memorandum of understanding on sustainability today at the Bluenergy Stadium press room. This step further strengthens the bond between the club and the city’s university; it does so through a partnership centred on one of Udinese Calcio’s founding values.

Some of the main goals of the agreement are to reduce the carbon footprint of sporting events, improving the spectators’ overall experience through new technologies, promoting social inclusion, well-being and safety at the stadium, increasing environmental sustainability and reducing the impact of travelling to and from the stadium. This is therefore a comprehensive environmental and social commitment.

“Signing this agreement is an important step that strengthens our tangible commitment to the sustainability of the area and enhances the partnership between Udinese Calcio and the University of Udine;” said Managing Director Franco Collavino. He then added: “Together with the university, we have in fact decided to join forces on a topic we both care deeply about and champion. Our goal is to do even more for the environment and our community and, at the same time, improve the overall experience of our Udinese fans before, during and after the match.”

“Our University has a long-standing virtuous management model aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the many activities it carries out;” said Rector Roberto Pinton. He then said: “Now, thanks to this agreement with Udinese Calcio, we can share our expertise and know-how to become an advanced sustainability role model in the area.”
