Udinese’s Primavera 2 season is going to kick off on Saturday 13 September at 15:00. The team are going to play against Cittadella: it will be an away match for the Bianconeri at the Stadio Samuele Cavallin di Loreggia (PD). This will be the first game of the season for the team led by coach Julio Gutierrez, who will be debuting in this role after three years as their assistant coach.
The Bianconeri have faced Cittadella in all their four Primavera 2 seasons thus far, with a total of four wins, one draw and three losses. Their latest match – both in general and with Cittadella as hosts – dates back to 29 March 2024 and ended with a 2-1 loss for Udinese. Only one player of Udinese’s current squad played in that match: Alessandro Busolini. Along with him, only Giulio Vinciati, Lorenzo Del Pino and Matteo Dal Vì were in the U20 squad for the 2024/25 season, while 17 players were part of the U17 team, who made it all the way to the league title semi-finals (among these players, Pietro Carrillo, Alex Ramku and Marco Vettor have already collected some appearances with the U20 team).
Cittadella – who in the last Primavera 2 season finished in ninth place – have already played two matches in this year’s Coppa Italia Primavera, winning 4-1 against Monopoli and losing 2-3 to Catanzaro. In these two matches Mattia Turella scored three goals, while Cittadella’s top scorer last season was Nicola Faccin, who is still part of the squad.
