In their first match, Marco Santarossa’s team, coached by Mattia Specogna, beat Beijing Guoan 1-0, once again with a goal by Eric Lirussi, who had already been decisive at his debut.
The team lost their second match to Chongqing, with the latter winning 3-1. Jacopo Maurig scored the goal for Udinese.
The third and final match against Dalian ended 3-3 after 90 minutes, with the goals for Udinese scored by Dimitri Craciun, Maurig and Matteo Andrejic. At the penalty shootout, Udinese handled the pressure well and won 3-2 with goals by Christian Zampa, Andrejic and Craciun.
With two wins out of three matches, Udinese have qualified for the knockout stage. Their next challenge will be the quarter finals, where they will do their best to honour the club also on the international stage.
