Udinese Under-17s are through to the championship semi-finals after overcoming Roma 2-1 on aggregate! Thursday's 1-1 draw in the capital was enough to see Alessandro Gridel's youngsters progress, following their 1-0 victory in Udine at the weekend.
The game started off at a slow tempo – partly owing to the heat – but Udinese began to cause problems with some high balls into the box towards the end of the first half and took the lead when Roma defender Alessandro Tosti turned Marco Vettor's shot into his own net.
The Giallorossi equalised soon after the restart through Emanuele Modugno but were unable to find the second goal they needed, despite a series of late chances.
The Final Four – to be played in Latina and Frosinone – will see Udinese take on Torino on 18 June while Juventus and AC Milan face off in the other semi.
