Bringing with him experience, goals and shots worthy of a number nine, Adam Buksa has joined Udinese!
Born in Krakow on 12 July 1996, the Pole has made the move to Udinese on a permanent transfer from Danish side Midtjylland and has signed a contract until June 2029.
A centre-forward with an imposing physique but also great energy, Buksa is equally adept at holding the ball up and finishing. He reached double figures in both of the last two league seasons, as well as having scored multiple goals in European competitions for club and country.
Having grown up in the youth ranks of three different teams based in Krakow - among which the most well-known is Wisla - he got his first taste of Italian football in 2013/14 when he played for Novara’s Primavera team. He returned home the following season and spent two years at Lechia Gdansk and another two at Zaglebie Lublin. However, it was at Pogon Szczecin that he made a name for himself under the guide of Kosta Runjaic. After scoring 22 goals in 52 appearances, he received the call from New England Revolution, where he stayed for three seasons. In his second season in MLS, he racked up 16 goals in 31 matches and his side finished top of the regular season table.
After scoring seven goals in ten games in the first half of his third season in the USA, he returned to Europe to play for Lens. In 2023/24 he made a move to Antalyaspor and bagged 16 goals in 33 appearances. Since summer 2024 he’s played for Midtjylland, making his European cup debut and netting 12 goals in 24 games. So far this season he has scored two goals in six matches across the Danish Superliga and the Europa League qualifiers.
He made his debut for the Poland national team in 2021 and to date has scored seven goals in 23 appearances. At the last UEFA European Championship, he played in two games and scored a goal against the Netherlands. He also tallied 12 appearances and two goals for the Under 21s, eight appearances and four goals for the Under 19s and two appearances for the Under 17s.
Welcome, Adam!
