Gerard Deulofeu took some time out to speak to Udinese TV about his goal streak and the remainder of the campaign.

“We have to take credit for back-to-back wins that are so important for this team’s progress. We’re in good form and nobody is settling just yet. The team has to stay focused on our upcoming matches.

“Gabriele Cioffi is a coach who really motivates his players, but also attaches importance to details which can make the difference in order to win games.

“I’ve scored ten goals so far, which is a decent return. It means I’ve really contributed to the team. We need our forwards to score goals. I’m so pleased, but I don’t want to stop here. I scored my tenth goal for Watford in the last league game of the campaign. I still have eight games left to play here and I’m raring to go.

“I’m also thrilled for Beto. He deserves credit for his maiden Serie A season. It’s not easy to score goals. Now we need to keep pushing in order to do as well as we possibly can.

“We’re a strong side, but we have to showcase that strength every week out on the pitch. Sometimes we haven’t managed to do that and haven’t pushed right until the end, which has meant we haven’t picked up as many points as possible. In our last six or seven games, we’ve really given everything and registered more points.

“It’s something we work on all week in training. We then take to the pitch on Sunday to bear the fruits of our hard work. We’re pleased, but we have to keep working hard to get as many points as we can.

“Wearing the number 10 shirt is a source of motivation for me. It’s a big deal and a jersey that’s been worn by so many top players in the past. One of them was Rodrigo De Paul, who I played with last year. It’s an honour for me to wear it and I’m giving my all to do it justice.

“I’m buzzing for the game against Empoli on Saturday. My target is to score goals and win the match. We have to take stock come the end of the season, not now. We have five or six games ahead of us, with fixtures every three days, so we need to focus on what we can do on the pitch.”
