Hassane Kamara was this week's guest on Udinese Tonight, the day after the 3-0 victory over Fiorentina – one of the team's best performances of the season
“I've been here three years and I think it's one of the first times we've won 3-0. It was a great night,” he began.
The match marked Hassane's return to action after a spell on the sidelines, with Keinan Davis also returning to the team.
“He had an injury and it was tough for him but he's come back in form. It does make a difference when he's not playing, not only because he's a great player but also because a team resembles its players, so when someone is missing it's necessarily different. That said, of course, we could have done better against Lecce and Sassuolo even without him."
The wing-back admitted that 50 points remain the target for this season.
“We believe we can get 50 points. We talk about it and it's something we want to achieve. We do come up short sometimes. We need to focus on each match. We have to play lots of the big teams and we haven't done well against the teams fighting to beat the drop so far. Another target is to finish in the top half of the table – that would be a big step forward.”
Kamara also spoke about his own future.
“It's an honour for me to be at this club, which will soon have spent 32 consecutive seasons in Serie A. My contract is expiring and I honestly don't know where I will be next season. For now I'm here and I hope every goes well. If I stay here, I'll be happy because I like it here. If I don't stay here, that's life. I'll say goodbye and wish Udinese all the best. I still have a few years of my career left and I'll give my all every year. When I see I can't push as hard anymore I'll say enough is enough.”
