Below is the letter written by Kosta Runjaic to bid farewell to the club and their fans.
“The current situation and my subsequent departure have caused me much pain. Over the last two and a half years, Udine has truly become a home, both the club and the city itself. The many encounters, shared experiences, memories and the people I had the privilege of meeting mean a great deal to me and will always remain special.
Nevertheless, I understand and respect the management's decision - there is now a need for fresh momentum and a collective effort from everyone. The club, the team, the Curva Nord and all the fans must come together and pull in the same direction, just as I witnessed and came to appreciate during my time here.
I’m deeply grateful for everything I experienced in Udine, and I’d like to thank everyone who accompanied and supported me along this journey, and for putting their trust in me: my coaching staff and colleagues, all the club’s employees, the management led by Gino Pozzo, the team, the Curva Nord and all the club’s fans.
Udinese will always hold a special place in my heart. I wish the team every success and, above all, that they stick together for the challenges that lie ahead. I also wish our president, Giampaolo Pozzo, strength and a speedy recovery.
Kosta Runjaic
