On Sunday Udinese will be taking on Lecce for the 37th time in a Serie A fixture. We have won 21, drawn three (never in the second half of the season) and lost 11 of these matches.
Udinese have won their last four meetings with Lecce and four of the last five at the Stadio Via del Mare. Kosta Runjaic's side won the reverse fixture at Bluenergy Stadium 3-2 and the most recent encounter in Salerno 1-0.
Udinese go into the game on the back of a two-game winning streak (against Hellas Verona and Roma): another win would make it three on the bounce for the first time since February-March 2025, when one of the three victories was against Lecce.
Prior to beating Verona, Udinese defeated Torino away. They haven't won three back-to-back matches on the road since autumn 2022.
The 32 points accumulated so far this season is Udinese's second highest total after 23 matches in the last ten years (33 in 2017/18). If the team were to take another three on Sunday, 35 points would be the best return after 24 matches since the 2012/23 campaign, the last time Udinese qualified for Europe.
Lecce currently have the least prolific attack in Serie A (13 goals) and haven't scored in 449 minutes. In 2026 they have picked up just two points and scored just two goals. Their last win was on 12 December, against Pisa.
Jurgen Ekkelenkamp's goal against Roma was his third of the season, equalling his total from last year. All three of his goals this season have earned the team three points.
Arthur Atta, who could make his 50th appearance for the club on Sunday, has the made the third most successful dribbles (51) in Serie A this term.
Oumar Solet (with 33) is also among the top 20 dribblers – the only defender on the list. The French centre-back is the player with the most ball recoveries in Serie A: 166.
Four Udinese players have scored against Lecce before: Jordan Zemura, Jesper Karlstrom, Keinan Davis (absent through injury) and Adam Buksa. Karlstrom and Buksa both scored their first Serie A goals for the club in the 3-2 win earlier this season.
The only former player is Razvan Sava, who was previously in the Lecce Primavera team.
Eusebio Di Francesco made his Serie A coaching debut in a Lecce v Udinese fixture 15 years ago.
