Monday’s game will mark the 107th Serie A competitive encounter between Udinese and Inter. Their first clash dates back to 1950 and the record currently stands at 23 wins for Udinese, 27 draws and 56 wins for Inter. The two teams will face off at San Siro, where Kosta Runjaic’s men secured a memorable 2-1 win in August 2025. Should they win this time too, it will be Udinese’s first back-to-back win over Inter since the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, with Francesco Guidolin as coach. The most recent match between the two teams was in January 2026 and ended in a 1-0 win for Inter with a goal from Lautaro Martinez. Despite the result, Kosta Runjaic remains ahead of Cristian Chivu, with two wins for Runjaic and one for the Inter coach. On the other hand, the last game to end in a draw between the two sides was back in January 2011.

Udinese have started the new season with four points in three Serie A matches and two Coppa Italia victories, finding the back of the net in every game. They were particularly proficient between the start of this season and the end of the last one, with four wins in their last six matches, including their most recent at Monza. The last time they had secured two wins in their first two away matches was back in the 1996/97 season. Udinese will be up against a team that have won all their games so far this season and who have not lost at home since November 2025 (14-match unbeaten streak). In 2026, the Nerazzurri were one of the most prolific teams in Europe when playing at home (an average of 2.8 goals per game), largely thanks to the goals of Lautaro Martinez, who is now Inter’s third most prolific goal-scorer ever after his brace against Napoli last week. At the same time, Inter have kept a clean sheet only once over the past six games.

Sandi Lovric (2022/23), Christian Kabasele (2024/25), Oumar Solet (2024/25) and Keinan Davis (2025/26) have all scored against Inter. Moreover, last season’s match against Inter was the only time that the English centre-forward scored a goal and provided an assist. Against Lazio, on the other hand, Jesper Karlstrom found the back of the net once again, one year since his first and up to then only goal for Udinese, scored against Lecce on 25 October 2025.
Four players are former Udinese or Inter players: Piotr Zielinski collected 19 appearances at Udinese between 2012 and 2014), Ivan Provedel played for Udinese’s Academy from 2010 to 2012, while Daniele Padelli made nine appearances for Inter between 2017 and 2021, and Nicolo Zaniolo played for Inter’s U20 team in the 2017/18 season.
