After Sunday's 2-0 reverse at the hands of AC Milan, Matteo Palma and mister Kosta Runjaic spoke at the post-game press conference.
Palma: “The first goal caught us by surprise and was the result of a lapse in defence. Unfortunately we weren't able to score afterwards, which is just as important as not conceding any. I can't explain these mistakes, I only know we need to watch them back and learn from them so that we don't make them again in future.
“This was the first time I'd played centre-left in a three-man backline. I felt comfortable there but I prefer to play in the middle or on the right.
“Now we must immediately focus on Parma and bounce back on Wednesday. We must get ourselves out of this situation as a team.”
Runjaic: “Obviously it's not good for us to lose but it was a better performance than against Lecce. We still have a lot of work to do. The early goal handed the advantage to a top-quality team. We have to cut out these mistakes because it's hard to come back from them. We didn't take the chances we had either. Milan could have scored more goals but we could have reached half time goalless.
"Nobody is happy with the situation we're in at the moment but the team is alive and kicking. We want to win every game. We have to start getting clean sheets. Right now it seems like we can concede from every shot. We certainly could have done better on the second goal.
“There are positives to take from every game. Toinight for example, there was the return of [Nicolo] Zaniolo, and he'll play for longer against Parma. [Keinan] Davis is on the right track. [Jakub] Piotrowski started his first game since his operation. [Giorgi] Chakvetadze is improving his fitness after missing pre-season. Palma played very well. [Christian] Kabasele is getting back to his usual level.
“The match against Parma is very important to both teams. It's like a final. We need to keep a clean sheet and come back with some points.”
