
Udinese are pleased to announce the signing of Poland international Jakub Piotrowski.
A skilful, powerful, goal-scoring midfielder, Piotrowski joins from Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad, penning a four-year deal until 30 June 2029.
The 27-year-old has a wealth of European experience and previously worked with Kosta Runjaic at Pogon Szczecin during the 2017/2018 season.
Piotrowski was born in Torun, Poland on 4 October 1997 and came through the youth ranks at Pogon. He broke into the first team in 2015/16, making four appearances in the Ekstraklasa that year.
The following season he was loaned to Stomil for six months before returning to Pogon for the 2017/18 campaign, when he played 29 games and scored three goals under Runjaic.
In 2018 he was bought by Genk and spent two seasons in Belgium, winning a league title and a Belgian Super Cup as well as making six Europa League appearances.
In the summer of 2020 he switched to Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany. Over the next two years he featured 46 times in all competitions (2 Bundesliga and German Cup) and scored one goal.
He joined Ludogorets in 2022/23 and immediately became a mainstay of the team. In his first year he made two appearances in the Champions League preliminaries, eight in the Europa League and one in the Conference League, besides recording 36 appearances and three goals in the domestic league and cup.
Piotrowski really took off the following season, weighing in with no fewer 11 goals in 31 league games as well as four in eight Conference League matches, making a further three appearances in the Champions League preliminaries and four in the Europa League preliminaries.
He confirmed his knack for scoring last season, when he notched six goals in 25 league games and featured eight times in the Europa League and six times in Champions League qualifying.
In his three years at Ludogorets, he totalled 26 goals and 21 assists in 142 games, winning three Bulgarian league titles, two Bulgarian cups and three Bulgarian Super Cups.
Since making his senior Poland debut in 2023, Jakub has established himself as a permanent fixture in the national-team set-up. So far he has earned 12 caps and scored two goals, including two starts at Euro 2024, against Netherlands and Austria.
Previously he represented Poland at youth level, playing for the U18s (two caps), U19s (six), U20s (eight) and U21s (11).
Now he's set for a new experience in Italy, once again under the guidance of Kosta Runjaic.
