Runjaic and Bertola post Lecce

Read their thoughts on Sunday’s defeat

After the defeat in Lecce on Sunday, head coach Kosta Runjaic and Nicolo Bertola spoke to the media.

Runjaic: "We expected exactly this kind of match. It wasn't easy to get into the rhythm. They pressed high up the pitch and the level of play for both teams was very low. They did a good job.
It wasn't a great match to watch, unfortunately that final situation decided the game. I would have liked to get at least a point, but I know we can play better and we will do so against Sassuolo.
We certainly missed [Keinan] Davis today, but we can adapt better to this situation. Today I chose [Vakoun] Bayo because [Nicolo] Zaniolo had had little training after his injury. [Adam] Buksa also returned yesterday. With so many long balls today, it wasn't easy for Bayo, but I expect him to win a few more duels.
We're not happy with the result and some moments of the match, but that's football. We'll play better next week. Congratulations to Lecce."

Bertola: "We know we didn't start the match well after the first goal. There were two slips. We knew Lecce would be aggressive, so it was our own mistake. Lecce made it hard for us and won the match.
We're taking it one game at a time. We didn't get any shots on goal today, partly because of Lecce's efforts and partly because of our own shortcomings. We didn't start the game well, but we reacted after the goal. We gave it our all, but it wasn't enough. Lecce deserved to win."
