Kosta Runjaic and Keinan Davis spoke at the post-match media conference following Udinese's 2-2 draw with Atalanta at New Balance Arena.
Runjaic: “Honestly I don't have any regrets. I'm proud of the team and their commitment. We knew we were playing away at a team who knocked Borussia Dortmund out of the Champions League. It was a thrilling game, especially in the second half, and we almost made it 3-2.
"It was a game with lots of transitions. They made some substitutions and brought on lots of quality. We can talk about the goals we conceded but it's a good draw and a deserved one. We're happy with the way we earned it.
“I don't see much difference between the Atalanta of old and [Raffaele] Palladino's Atalanta. They're a top-level team who play good football, man for man, with lots of energy. On paper we're not as strong as them, but we matched their energy levels today.
“We started with a young player like [Branimir] Mlacic, who hasn't played many senior games, and we brought on [Juan] Arizala. I'm very happy with them. We've brought them in a bit earlier than planned but it was a good experience.”
Davis: "We knew that playing away at Atalanta is always difficult – it's not by chance that they're playing in the Champions League. But we believe in ourselves and if we play with the right energy we can give anyone a game. It feels more like two points dropped today than a point gained because we were 2-0 up. When you have a two-goal lead and you don't win, you obviously feel disappointed.
“I was out for a month and this was my second game since coming back. I played more than I did last week and now I hope to play 90 minutes against Juventus – that's my target.”
