Runjaic: "Intensity, courage and tactical nous"

The boss looks ahead to Monday's game

Kosta Runjaic addressed the media ahead of Udinese's home game against Como on Monday.

Here's a selection of what he had to say:

Como

“Como are no surprise package. They showed they had a clear playing philosophy last season. They want to have the ball but they defend well too. They've strengthened this season but kept on the same path and you can see the results. They're the form team and we know what to expect. They all know how to play and they don't alter their style to suit their opponents. We need to play our own game, be compact and keep our shape.

"The second half of the reverse fixture is a good example: we didn't play badly but if we look at the two halves we played very differently. We must get our approach right on Monday and played with intensity, courage and tactical nous. We respect Como but we want to make it tough for them and get points.”

Missing players

“[Keinan] Davis is a very important player for us but unfortunately he's suspended for this one. [Jesper] Karlstrom is close to a suspension too but he's been careful not to get booked recently. In any case we have alternatives. Davis is not easy to replace as we don't have another player like him in the squad. We've tried different solutions and we'll see on Monday.

“Apart from [Jordan] Zemura, [Adam] Buksa and [Alessandro] Zanoli, everyone else is available. Today we finally had everyone back together after the international break. Buksa is getting better and I hope he'll start training with the team again next week.”

Targets

“Our objective hasn't changed: we want to do better than last season. We need six points to do that but we wouldn't be happy if we only got six points. There are lots of games left and we need to work hard. We're motivated. We want to get to 50 points. It's an ambitious target and it would be a great signal. I'm confident that we'll see a good Udinese in this season finale.”
