After the 2-0 loss away to Roma, Kosta Runjaic delivered his assessment of the team’s performance.
“We put in a good performance against a team in the top three and we played with bravery. We were unlucky with the penalty, as that decision changed the course of the game, but I’m not here to talk about the referee’s decisions in the moment. The players and Roma fans were surprised too.
“I’m pleased with the display compared with how we fared last season against Roma. We conceded too easily at the start of the second half unfortunately.
“We created chances and had a very good one on 70 minutes to get back into the contest.
“I’m pleased with the attitude and bravery shown.
“Zaniolo turned in a good performance. It wasn’t easy against their defenders. He gave everything he had. He had a decent chance to score, but we now have to accept the final result.”
