Marco Silvestri has lauded the team's defensive solidity after 10-man Udinese shared the spoils with Salernitana at Dacia Arena.
“We produced a really gritty performance. We managed to get the clean sheet and defended really well as a team. In the second half nearly all of their chances were shots from outside the box. We were very solid.”
The No.1 certainly played his part, making a series of spectacular saves to ensure the scoreline remained intact.
“We all gave everything out there and we're all training well. I do my bit by working hard and doing what I can, trying to improve constantly.”
He also had words of praise for Salernitana.
“They made it really hard for us because they're a well-drilled, physical side. We played well in the first half ourselves and even when we were a man light we managed to fashion a few decent openings. We've ended up with a point and we'll take it.”
Silvestri then gave his take on Andrea Sottil.
“The gaffer is a hard worker who knows what he wants. He's giving us lots of input and we're here to follow his instructions. I'm sure he's proud of our defensive display today because this was the sort of performance he wanted.”
Finally, the keeper looked ahead to next weekend's trip to Monza.
“They're another quality team. We'll concentrate on the things we do well and go there looking to play our game.”
