Solet and Runjaic's post-Verona press conference

Defender and coach share their views following Monday's victory

Oumar Solet and Kosta Runjaic addressed the media at the Stadio Bentegodi after Udinese's 3-1 win over Hellas Verona.

Solet: “It was a difficult game today, as they all are. We played well and I'm happy. Personally I always do my best to help the team. I think I did well today. We have to keep going like this, taking each game as it comes.

“I played on the right today. If the boss needs me on the right or the left, it doesn't change much for me. I just want to play well and help the team. We're all pleased with the three points today.”

Runjaic: “First of all, I'm very happy for the team. We performed at a good level from the start. We played exactly the way we wanted to play, although there are things we can do better.

“The first half wasn't easy. We expected Verona to defend deep. They're a transition team who defend with great discipline so we couldn't create too many chances but we controlled the game.

“In the second half we played with a better tempo, more determination and good quality at times. It's a deserved win. I'm happy for the players and for our fans. It's important to win the derby and historically it hasn't been easy to beat Verona.

“It was a team win. Generally we controlled the game, when defending too. There were one or two situations but we know how dangerous Verona can be in transition. Unfortunately there was one occasion where we couldn't protect the goal and we conceded but I'm happy with the structure of the team. We played with discipline. Our centre-backs had good positioning and passed the ball well and there were certain moments when we needed to speed up play you had a bit of extra individual quality.

“[Arthur] Atta started well today and got better and better. [Keinan] Davis is in great shape and scored a fantastic goal. I'm happy for him. He's always dangerous and we could give him the ball more. [Jurgen] Ekkelenkamp did a good job too. All in all, it was a really good away performance.”
