It was a complicated match at Bluenergy Stadium, as Udinese sought to secure three points against their opponent, Lecce, who had set the same goal for themselves. David Alaba was part of the team’s starting line-up for the very first time.
In the 11th minute, Lecce took the lead thanks to Kialonda Gaspar’s header on a corner kick.
The hosts then tried to create something and score the equaliser, but in the 33rd minute Lecce doubled their lead through Konan N’Dri, who happened to be in the trajectory of Tiago Gabriel’s header and beat Maduka Okoye.
Lecce kept the same tempo in the second half, but then Udinese tried to fight back.
Starting from the final quarter of the game, the hosts tried to attack more to score, but Lecce left them no space. The visitors scored a third goal towards the end following a counter-attack, with Jamil Siebert finding the back of the net.
The match ended in a 0-3 defeat for Udinese, who still have four points in the table. Now they will have to prepare for their second consecutive home match, this time against Milan.
