Monday night’s match will be the 44th Serie A competitive game between Udinese and Hellas Verona. The record currently stands at 12 wins, 17 draws and 14 losses. Both their most recent Serie A match in the first half of the current season and their last match at the Stadio Bentegodi in January 2025 ended in a draw (1-1 and 0-0 respectively), while Udinese’s most recent win was their 1-2 victory in October 2022. Verona have lost their past three games at home and have not won overall since 14 December in Florence. Udinese have not won in two games, but they earned their last three points in their last away match (in Turin on 7 January). Over the past 10 games they have played, Udinese have never recorded the same final result for two consecutive matches, and since the start of the season (against Inter and Pisa) they have not won two consecutive away games.
Udinese currently have the same number of points they had on matchday 21 of last season – 26 – and they have earned them with the exact same results: seven wins, five draws and nine losses. In Verona, Udinese will face the team that has conceded the most goals in the final fifteen minutes (12) and that in the second half has lost the most points compared to the first half (10 points less), as well as the team with the lowest average ball possession in Serie A (40%). Kosta Runjaic will need to end his winless run against Paolo Zanetti, as so far out of three competitive encounters with the coach from Veneto, Runkaic has collected two draws and one defeat.
Oumar Solet, who made his Serie A debut at the Stadio Bentegodi, is the Serie A player with the most ball recoveries (153). Keinan Davis is in third place when it comes to goals to shots ratio: the English player has scored a goal every 5.5 attempts, alongside Bologna’s Santiago Castro and only behind Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao. With a total of six goals, he has already scored twice as many goals as he did in the past two seasons combined. If he plays on Monday, Christian Kabasele will reach 50 appearances for Udinese. The Belgian defender has already scored against Hellas Verona in the 3-3 match in December 2023, while Thomas Kristensen scored in Udinese’s match against Verona in the first half of the season. The only former player of the fixture is Enzo Ebosse, who is currently on loan at Verona from Udinese.
