Before Friday's match against Venezia, Nicolo Zaniolo and Gokhan Inler were interviewed by Sky and DAZN.
Zaniolo: "[Paolo] Zanetti has had a good impact on the team. We're thankful to [Kosta] Runjaic for what he did in the last few years but unfortunately in situations like this it's always the coach who pays the price. The new boss is really fired up. He has the right energy. Hopefully we can channel that onto the pitch.
“At times like this you need to find that extra something. The coach has really fired us up and we're happy to have him here. We've done a lot of work this week and we've talked a lot too. We're ready.
“It's a tricky match for both teams. They're in good form and have done well against the big teams. The game will be decided by fine details. We have to give it our all.”
Inler: “You need grit in Serie A because it's a tough league. The new coach has come in and demanded real intensity and the players have taken it on board. He's determined to change things. We're all fired up for this match tonight.
“We're a big family. We're not in an easy situation but we have to pull out all the stops in every match. Today the president [Gianpaolo] Pozzo needs the strength the team can give him with their performance on the pitch.
“It's not easy to change coach but in football points are paramount and we only picked up one in our last eight games. We've definitely been coming up short and we must do better. It's a long season and today we have another chance.”
