Gerard Deulofeu was a special guest on Udinese Tonight on Monday evening and discussed the season so far as well as the importance of the supporters at Dacia Arena.

“I’m feeling good. Dacia Arena is a brilliant stadium and an even better one with supporters in attendance. Support from the fans makes all the difference and we’re stronger with them.

“We’re always focused during matches, but we could feel the fans and people who support us were missing. It’s wonderful to see them arrive at the stadium with so many families and children and the level of excitement among them is fantastic.

“Udinese played well against Atalanta. There was a small change to the system. We were better organised and broke forward with an extra man. We got an important point at a difficult stadium against a top team.

“I’ve said on other occasions that we can play in so many different ways. Now we need to wait and see if this system can work for us again in the future.

“As I’ve mentioned in the past, this team is capable of more. I like hearing the fans say that we can achieve more. In my opinion, we picked up a good point against Atalanta.

“I’ve got back to where I wanted to be. You can see that I’m fit and my body is letting me do everything. In football nowadays, you have to be fit to play at your top level. In the past, my knee prevented me from performing at my best, but I’m fit now and you can see that on the pitch.

“The Udinese number 10 shirt is such an important one and it meant so much to me to be able to choose it. It’s an honour to wear it. I know so many top players have donned it over the years and I’ll do everything possible to honour it and emulate their past achievements.

“I’m very pleased with the club’s signings, particularly in terms of the young players. They’re helping the team so much, they’re making a positive impact and have the right mentality. When they take to the pitch, even as substitutes, they help the side with their quality, which is what Udinese need.

“I’d love to play in every single game between now and the end of the season. I want to be fit and help the team. I know that if I can play in every fixture, it’ll be a wonderful campaign for me and I’ll have made my contribution.”
