Udinese Calcio and the Pozzo family are today mourning Giuliano Zoratti, who passed away this morning at the age of 73.

As midfielder in his playing days, Zoratti spent two seasons with Udinese in Serie C between 1966 and 1968.

After hanging up his boots, he embarked on a coaching career and worked as Massimo Giacomini's assistant at Udinese during a highly successful two-year spell from 1977 to 1979, which saw the club earn back-to-back promotions from Serie C to Serie A.

Zoratti remained as Giacomini's assistant until 1986 working at the likes of AC Milan, Torino and Napoli. He later became a head coach in his own right and took the reins of Avellino, Reggina, Triestina and Livorno – among others – before returning to Friuli and coaching at amateur level until a few years ago.

Giuliano also worked as a pundit and commentator for Udinese TV

Our condolences go out to the Zoratti family.
