Lazar Samardzic is now officially an Udinese player. The club has secured the services of the highly rated young playmaker, who is one of the most promising talents in European football.

Samardzic has joined on a permanent deal, signing from Leipzig on a contract until 30 June 2026.

Born on 24 February 2002 in Berlin, Lazar is a left-footed attacking midfielder who can play in the hole, on the wing or in central midfield.

At seven years of age, he entered the Hertha Berlin academy, where he completed his whole youth career, before joining the reserves in 2019 and then the first team a year later, making his debut on 22 May 2020 in Hertha's 4-0 derby win over Union.

In the summer of 2020, he was bought by RB Leipzig, where he made nine league and cup appearances over the season.

Samardzic has also represented Germany since the Under 16s, where he scored two in seven appearances. Since then he has also played for the Under 17s (scoring one in five), the Under 19s (scoring two in six) and now he’s with the Under 20s, where he already has three appearances and one goal to his name.

Welcome to Udinese, Lazar!
