On Friday night Udinese and Genoa will face each other in Serie A for the 60th time. The record so far is almost equal - 20 Udinese wins, 20 draws and 19 Genoa victories. The head-to-head over the last ten matches played at the Luigi Ferraris is also balanced, with two wins each, six draws and 13 goals scored each by both teams. However, Udinese haven’t won in Genoa since 3 November 2019 when they claimed a 3-1 away victory, which was also Luca Gotti’s first match in charge of the Zebrette. The last fixture between the two teams ended in a 2-0 Genoa win on 1 December 2024 at Bluenergy Stadium, as did the last one played at Marassi on 24 February 2024. Nine of Udinese’s 11 wins this season have come against teams further down the league table than they are – the Rossoblu would fall into this category.

Udinese lost their last away game 2-1 in Milan to Inter, but in their last seven matches they have never had the same result twice in a row. Additionally, they have scored in each of their last five games and this season they have won both of their games played on a Friday against Cagliari and Lecce.

Oumar Solet found the net last time out against Inter. His goal brought the number of different scorers for Udinese in this Serie A season to 15, two fewer than Inter, who sit first in this ranking. The French defender is the fourth player with the most dribbles completed in 2025 in the Italian top flight (19), after Kenan Yildiz, Nico Paz and another Udinese player, Florian Thauvin, who has reached 20. Should he take to the field against Genoa then Martin Payero would reach the milestone of 50 Serie A appearances, all for Udinese. Lorenzo Lucca returns to face the team against whom he scored his first Serie A goal, back on 1 October 2023 at Bluenergy Stadium.
