NEW UDINESE AWAY KITS COMBINE TURQUOISE, NAVY BLUE AND A GREEN CONCEPT, PLUS NEW DACIA BRANDING

UDINE, 8 July 2021 – Udinese Calcio last year became the first top club wearing Macron kit to unveil a jersey made from Eco-Softlock, a material created using recycled plastic and certified according to the Global Recycled Standard, the leading international standard for the sustainable production of clothing and other textile products. This environmentally friendly strategy from Macron was instantly bought into by Udinese, a club which cares deeply about sustainability and the environment. 
 
This ethos has now been renewed with the unveiling of the new Away kit that the Bianconeri will wear over the course of the 2021/22 season. The kit will feature the brand-new Dacia logo, which was presented – along with the jerseys – in a press conference held today at the Dacia Arena, which in itself is a venue with green principles at its heart. During the 2019/20 season, Udinese Calcio launched the ambitious “CO2 free stadium” project, with the aim of making the Dacia Arena more environmentally sustainable than ever. The stadium is powered by electricity taken from certified renewable sources and gas with zero environmental impact, with this meaning the club was able to avoid over 1,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions last season.
 
Attending the press conference were Udinese Calcio Vice President Stefano Campoccia, Renault Image & Communication Director Francesco Fontana Giusti and Macron CEO Gianluca Pavanello.

"Dacia are moving up a gear,” stressed Francesco Fontana Giusti, Renault Italia's Image & Communication Director. “Dacia remains the brand with the best value for money on the market, but it's also become more modern. We've revamped our range to include the essentials our customers want without scrimping on quality. We also have a new brand identity which emphasises the strength of our brand as well as our partnership with Udinese Calcio as they launch their new away kit, so that we can start again even stronger. This was also the opportunity to introduce to Europe our new Duster, a new-look SUV with an outdoor spirit.” 
 
The new Udinese Calcio away jersey features navy blue across the chest and sleeves, with this colour gradually fading into turquoise. The shirts also feature a tone-on-tone graphic made up of wavy lines which run horizontally and are sleeker across the chest, becoming thicker and running vertically down the central part and on the rear. 
 
The shirts have a navy blue mandarin collar with two turquoise stripes, while the club’s logo and the words 125 ANNI DI PASSIONE [125 YEARS OF PASSION] are positioned on the inside of the back of the neck. The words La Passione è la nostra Forza [Passion is our Strength] are embroidered in white in the same position, but on the outside. The Macron Hero logo in silicon is printed on the right breast, while the Udinese Calcio badge takes pride of place on the left side, over the heart. 
 
Completing the Away kit are turquoise shorts with a white drawstring, while the socks match the gradient colour scheme of the jersey, fading from turquoise into navy blue with a series of fine, horizontal stripes. The Macron Hero logo is positioned on the front of the socks, while the lettering U.C. 1896 is printed on the calves. The main material used for these slim-fit jerseys is Eco-Softlock, while Eco Mesh inserts ensure maximum breathability.
 
The close working relationship between Macron and Udinese Calcio has generated some truly unique match kits, combining stunning designs with sophisticated graphics featuring references to the history and folklore of the Bianconeri. The commitment of both parties to green principles also sends out a strong message in terms of environmental protection. It all means that the new away kit is much more than a jersey, instead representing a shared vision held by Udinese Calcio and its partners, based around values such as sustainability. The presence of the new Dacia logo on the jerseys also further underlines the synergy between Udinese and its long-term partner Dacia, reflecting the latest developments at the company.
 
The new jersey will be available for pre-order from Friday 9 July on store.udinese.it and www.macron.com, at the Macron Store at the Dacia Arena and in all authorised Macron resellers.
